Trails Reopen June 21 + Important OHV Sticker Reminder

Happy summer solstice!

The Forest Service’s seasonal wildlife closures lift tomorrow, June 21, which means many of our region’s most popular motorized roads and trails will reopen for the summer season.

Trail crews — including our locally funded Forest Service OHV crew — have already been hard at work clearing hundreds of trees from priority routes. You can expect access to the following areas:

  • Yeoman/Fulford: Metheny, Big Park, Old Fulford

  • Hardscrabble: Powerline, Hat Creek

  • Muddy Pass area: Metcalf Creek, June Creek, Red & White, Moon Park, and Berry Creek

These efforts are possible in part because of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife OHV registration program. Just a reminder: All OHVs and all license-plated vehicles operating on designated OHV routes are required to display a valid CPW OHV sticker. The fee is $25.25 for residents and non-residents, and the funding directly supports trail maintenance, seasonal crews, and motorized recreation infrastructure across Colorado — including the work happening right here in our backyard.
